Data Gathering - Site Visit
|
On the day of the site visit, MINT participants working in heterogeneous groups of three (i.e. each small group consisting of members from three different AHSI intermediary organizations), visited a total of 4 classrooms each where advisors were facilitating lessons with a Math/QR focus. Advisors were instructed in advance that these sessions should be “business as usual” – not specially designed for the MINT guests. In some classrooms, MINT participants were encouraged to get directly involved in an activity and/or talk with students about their Math/QR experiences while in other classrooms they purely took on an observer role. In all cases, MINT participants were consciously looking for evidence and opportunities (missed or under-utilized) related to the 7 Numeracy Principles.
