The process for this site visit conducted by a Mixed Intermediary Numeracy Team (MINT) is part of the AHSI School Numeracy Enhancement Initiative (SNEI). Collaboratively developed by the AHSI Math/QR capacity-building workgroup, this process was intended to serve two purposes:
1. Provide critical friends feedback and support to the host school /organization, and
2. Provide a hands on, meaningful professional development opportunity for MINT participants that could be replicated at some level within their own organization.
Steps in the process for this visit included:
1. Pre-planning conference call with Mapleton Early College (MEC) leadership and AHSI Math/QR leads
2. Three pre-visit planning conference calls with MEC leadership and MINT participants
3. MEC preparation of self-reported numeracy goals, challenges, progress, and evidence shared with MINT participants
4. Pre-visit (evening before) reception, meeting, and dinner with Mapleton staff and MINT participants
5. Full day site visit at Mapleton Early College – MINT participants working in 4 teams of 3 to record evidence and opportunities related to the 7 AHSI Numeracy Principles on the MINT Data Gathering Tool
6. Evening debrief, dinner and celebration with Mapleton EC staff and MINT members
7. Follow up meeting with MEC leadership and AHSI Math/QR lead
8. Participant survey and reflection completed by MINT participants
9. Reflection completed by MEC staff members

This report is intended to briefly summarize the process, findings and recommendations for MEC moving forward with their numeracy efforts. The intent is that this report will serve as a useful tool for MEC to develop and implement a one month, three month, and six month action plan with continued correspondence and support from the AHSI Math/QR leads and MINT participants.
