MINT Support Team Visit

Following the last classroom session, MINT support team members and HRHS staff assembled to debrief the day’s lessons and share thoughts around next steps. A protocol was used allowing each HRHS math teacher to first reflect on their lesson(s) – what went well and areas for improvement, and then receive feedback from MINT support team members and HRHS coaches regarding their observations and suggestions/recommendations.
The following represents an attempt to provide a snapshot, in bullet statements, of observations and suggestions/recommendations shared by the MINT support team members and HRHS coaches with respect to the four key areas of focus. These statements are not intended to be all inclusive yet are noted to share firsthand observations, validate current efforts, and provide rationale for the suggestions/recommendations that are noted.

Full MINT Visit

Following the final classroom session, MINT participants assembled in their two respective groups and discussed the information recorded on their individual HRHS Foci Recording Chart. Following in-depth discussions, some individual and some collective observations/evidence and suggestions were recorded on poster-sized HRHS Foci Recording Charts. These charts were then referenced during the evening debrief session as MINT members took turns sharing observations/evidence and suggestions with HRHS staff. Information from the two sets of charts were then compiled into one document. What follows is a selection of the information collected, recorded on the charts, and shared with HRHS staff during the evening debrief.
